The University of Memphis men’s golf team<\/a><\/strong> is competing in the NCAA Championships<\/strong> in Carlsbad, California, and they belong there. The Tigers tee off Friday, May 29, at 10:20 a.m. CST, marking the program’s first trip to nationals since 2012 and just their eighth appearance in program history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memphis is one of only three unranked schools in the field<\/strong> and one of five programs outside a Power Four conference<\/strong>. That makes this run even more impressive<\/em>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading the way is junior Diego Lourenco<\/strong>, who made history this season as the first Tiger to win the individual title at the American Conference Championship, finishing at 14-under-par. Juniors Yixiang Wang <\/strong>and sophomore Christian Morneau have been equally sharp all season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament runs through June 3, with Golf Channel picking up the final three rounds.<\/strong> Memphis is proving that great golf lives here! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
