Memphis\u2019 culinary scene has reached a new milestone. Chez Philippe<\/strong>, the fine-dining restaurant inside The Peabody Memphis<\/strong>, has been awarded the coveted AAA Five Diamond designation<\/strong>, making it the only restaurant in Tennessee, Mississippi, or Arkansas to hold the honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recognition places Chez Philippe among an elite group of just 65 restaurants nationwide that have earned Five Diamond status through American Automobile Association\u2019s Diamond Program<\/strong>, which evaluates restaurants on service, atmosphere, and overall guest experience. The designation process includes anonymous inspections, reservations, and a final review by a panel of experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1982, Chez Philippe has long been a cornerstone of Memphis fine dining. The restaurant blends Southern ingredients with classic French culinary techniques, serving a highly seasonal menu that has earned accolades for decades. It previously held AAA\u2019s Four Diamond designation since 1989<\/strong> before reaching the program\u2019s highest level this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chef de cuisine Keith Clinton<\/strong>, who began leading the kitchen in 2023, credited the team behind the restaurant for the milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Memphis, the designation is another reminder that the city\u2019s culinary culture continues to gain national recognition \u2014 from beloved neighborhood spots to world-class dining experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
