Memphis is celebrating another national title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The University of Memphis Cheer team returned home from Orlando, Florida, after capturing a national championship at a major collegiate cheer and dance competition, marking a significant milestone for the program and the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Competing against top programs from across the country, Memphis claimed the Division IA Small Coed National Championship, finishing ahead of runner-up Purdue. The win represents the Tigers\u2019 fourth national title in the last seven years, reinforcing Memphis Cheer\u2019s place among the nation\u2019s elite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The championship also marked a major turnaround from last season, when the team finished fifth. That growth, driven by discipline, consistency, and teamwork, culminated in a standout performance on the national stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the team arrived back in Memphis, they were greeted with celebration at Memphis International Airport, as family, friends, and supporters welcomed the champions home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Team members credited the victory to resilience and unity throughout the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cResiliency was the number one thing on my mind,\u201d said team member Evan Dock. \u201cWe worked hard all year, day in and day out. When we got to finals, we faced adversity, but we stayed true to who we are and how we support one another.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
